HISTORY OF PROKABADDI SEASONS


Pro Kabaddi League was Coined by Mashal Sports and its promoted by Anand MahindraCharu Sharma and Rajiv Luthra.
When it was started the rules of  the Pro kabaddi  were similar to that of the indoor Kabaddi, but it made few changes were made to make interesting with an additional rules like Playing two "empty" raids in a row will trigger a "do-or-die raid", where the raider must score a point or they will be declared out. When a defensive side has three or fewer players remaining, tackles are scored as a "Super Tackle", which is worth two points instead of one
Pro-kabaddi Season-1(26 July – 31 Aug 2014)
Ø Number of team participated – 8
Ø Total number of games- 60 ( 56 games were played in first round  and 4 games were played in play-offs )
Ø Winners- Jaipur Pink Panthers beat U Mumba by 35-24 to win the inaugural Pro Kabaddi League.

Ø Semi Final 1st: Jaipur Pink Panthers (38) beat Patna Pirates (18)
Ø Semi Final 2nd: U Mumba (27) beat Bengaluru Bulls (23)
Ø Auction highlights – auction was held on 20 May 2014 in Mumbai.
 Rakesh Kumar was the highest paid among the players  for 12.80 lakh to the Patna Pirates.
Deepak Nivas was bought by Telugu Titans franchise for 12.60 lakh.
Tae Deok Eom was the highest paid overseas player bought for 7 lakh by Patna franchise
Ø Anup kumar was best Raider from U-Mumba with a points of 155
Ø Manjeet Chillar was top Defender from Bengaluru Bulls with a points of 51

 Pro Kabaddi season 2 ( from July 18 to 23 August 2015)
Ø Winners - U Mumba beat Bengaluru Bulls by 36-30 to win the 2015 season of Pro Kabaddi League



Ø  U Mumba stood first, Bengaluru Bulls stood second and Telugu Titans stood on third position in the league.
Ø The first semi final was held between Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls on August 21 in Mumbai
Ø Second semi final - U Mumba against Patna Pirates on August 21 in Mumbai as well.
Ø Kashiling adake was the best raider , Ravindre Pahal was best defender

Pro Kabaddi Season 3 (Jan-2016)
Ø This season  have two editions.The 1st edition  is to play the tournament once in January–February 2016 and once in June–July 2016.
Ø Patna Pirates beat U Mumba by 3 Points in the final in Delhi to take home the trophy. Puneri Paltan came third this season.

Ø Pradeep Narawal was best raider , Manjeet Chillar was best defender and best all round perfermonace was from Rohit Kumar for this tournament

Ø Season 4 also saw the launch of first professional woman kabaddi league.
Ø Rahul Chadhari was best raider , Fazel atrachali was best defender and pradeep Narwal was best all-round performance for this tournament

  Pro Kabaddi League season-five (July 2017)
Ø The Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 started on July 28, 2017.
Ø A total of 12 teams, including new teams from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat.
Ø  The team from Haryana is known as Haryana Steelers 
Ø  Tamil Nadu team named Tamil Thalaivas
Ø The Uttar Pradesh team is named as UP Yoddha 
Ø  Gujarat team is named Gujarat Fortune Giants
Ø As per the Pro Kabaddi 2017 schedule, 12 teams have been divided into two Zones or Groups of six each. Each team will play 15 intra-zone and seven inter-zone matches before the playoffs.
Ø Nitin Tomar,was highest paid by the Uttar Pradesh team for a Rs 93 lakh. And  Rohit Kumar picked by Bengaluru Bulls  for a Rs 81 lakhs
Ø South Korea's Jang Kun Lee was most expensive foreign player and he was retained by the Bengal Warriors for Rs 80.3 lakhs.
Ø Patna Pirates Beat Gujarat Fortune Giants by 55-38 in the final match
